Sue Hawkins
Sue Hawkins' experience is based upon her own journey through Yoga. From the high profile, fast paced life in Sydney as a TV Producer to her life in Byron Bay now, she teaches runs Yoga Retreats in Byron Bay, Bali and Vietnam where you can experience yoga, meditation, Pilates, Pranayama, chanting, massage, Ayurvedic treatments, cultural activities and more.
Sue is a Certified Senior Yoga Teacher and has been practising yoga for 25 years and teaching for 12 years. She studied Iyengar Yoga in Sydney and completed a teacher training course at Yoga Arts in Byron Bay in Astanga and Hatha yoga. Sue increased her knowledge by going to India to study with BNS Iyengar in Mysore. Practicising Astanga and deepening her understanding of the spiritual aspects of yoga. This journey involved a Mantra Initiation with a Vishnava Guru to deepen her connection with spirit and to move her life path even further in the direction of teaching Yoga and healing. Sue was given a spiritual name "Sudasi" - meaning Servant of God as well as training with Dharmavirsingh Mahida in Pune, studying yogasana, Ayurveda and yoga philosophy.

When you attend one of Sue’s yoga retreats, it’s an opportunity to reflect and re-evaluate your life from a different perspective. At times it is a journey to the heart of quiet and other times it’s an experience of freedom in a spontaneous expression of inner joy, or a sense of connectedness. The retreats encourage students to continue their yoga practice with a new vigor and inspiration while feeling relaxed, mentally refreshed and uplifted. The effects are often felt for weeks after the retreat has finished creating an opportunity for a life changing experience.

Testimonial

A serene and inspiring environment to explore ourselves. Experiencing a safe place to become vulnerable and grow positively. The dash of cultural activities rounded out the overall experience.

It has been a magical + inspiring week. A fabulous escape from reality

My experience during the Oneworld retreat in Bali was transforming. The setting, staff and participants made for a life altering experience which I will be able to translate back into my daily life. Sue's ability to work with every level of student simultaneously made the group cohesive and supportive. The Kumara staff were so delightful and warm. They showed us the inside experience of the Balinese through the Purification ritual + bike riding to back roads of the countryside with every village child so excited to welcome us with warm smiles and 'hellos'

This week has reinforced that I really need to be good to myself and take time for myself. The physical strength that I feel coupled with renewed spirituality & calmness is amazing.
