Join Marije for this 6-day yoga retreat in Bali, to detoxify your body, mind and soul! This retreat will significantly improve your vitality and well being, thus facilitating positive changes in your life. Sometimes we just need to give ourselves a break and get rid of stress and toxins that are weighing on our body and mind, causing our system to work less efficiently. Whether you are ready to let go of certain habits, thought patterns or specific foods that no longer serve you, or just want a break from your daily life, this retreat is for you! A nutritional elimination detox diet is optional. The retreat program includes ample time for relaxation and recharging, as well as activities to experience the rich culture and nature that Bali has to offer.

You will enjoy twice daily yoga classes, three nutritious and healthy meals per day and a luxurious spa treatment. A traditional Balinese purification ceremony at the Tirta Empul temple, a yoga practice at the magical Gunung Kawi temple, a walk through the emerald green rice fields and a snorkel/beach trip to the idyllic island of Nusa Penida are also included.

This retreat will allow you to dive deeper into your practice, whether you are a beginner or an advanced yogi, and is suitable to everyone interested in yoga, detox and a healthy lifestyle. Daily practice will include Vinyasa-flow style Yoga and Yin Yoga, Pranayama (breathing exercises) and Mindfulness Meditation.

Your Retreat Leader

Marije E. Paternotte (E-RYT) received both her foundational and professional level yoga teacher certification at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Massachusetts (USA), and her Yin Yoga training from Sarah Powers. She is an experienced retreat leader. Her teaching style is precise and compassionate, with a focus on safe anatomical alignment, and breath and body awareness. Marije enjoys teaching gentle, mindful yoga, as well as physically challenging classes. Q: On social media you indicated that you were really enjoying your job here in Bali. So, what do you find most magical about Bali?

A: There are many things that I find magical about this island. The special energy here is reflected in the people’s daily lives, how they put out offerings all the time everywhere. There are flowers everywhere, in the offerings and in hotel rooms. The people are so genuine. Whereas people in other societies tend to get worked up by their daily lives, the Balinese on the other hand are so connected to the full circle of life.

ONEWORLD retreats at Kumara


The fourteen bedroom holistic retreat is located 1.5 km from the heart of Ubud in Bali. Bordered by a small creek to the west, the eco-friendly retreat is surrounded by jungle and rice fields. The retreat centre offers two swimming pools, dining room, spa and 125 square meter yoga studio open to nature.

Each room is air-conditioned, has its own terrace, mini-bar and bathroom. Comfortable yet unpretentious. For our guests' ultimate serenity, we welcome guests of a minimum age of 14 years.

About Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga is a practice that emphasizes stretching of the connective tissue and the joints - rather than the muscles - in the body. This is done by passively holding seated or supine postures for 3-5 minutes. Practicing in this way creates space and ease in the body, and is a great complement to more dynamic practices of yoga. Since there is a strong meditative component to this practice, it has a calming effect on your mind as well.


Most meals are included and served at the resort.

Our chefs are experienced and eager to offer you the freshest, most tasteful and healthy meals. From our "table d'hôte" you may choose to eat vegetarian or non vegetarian meals. Just like at a friend's place, there are no menus, yet we make sure to know what you like and dislike!

Meals are served either in the jungle dining room or in the privacy of your own balcony table.

Optional: detox diet

In addition, however, you will now have the option to choose a nutritional elimination detox diet during the retreat. If you’d like, you could decide to eliminate - or limit - from your diet during the retreat the following food items, to help your body detox from toxins that influence your digestive system and overall health:

  • Coffee
  • Sugar and artificial sweeteners
  • Wheat
  • Dairy
  • Alcohol

Of course, there is also the option to eat vegetarian. The menu will in any case only contain fish and chicken, no red meat or pork.

Please let us know at your earliest convenience if you’d like to participate in the detox, and which – if not all – of the food items above you’d like to eliminate from your diet. If you decide to not have coffee during the retreat and you are currently drinking coffee daily, we strongly recommend you start limiting your coffee intake 2 weeks prior to the retreat. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.


Part of your Divine Bali Bliss retreat is enjoying the luxury of our skilled therapist’s treatments. Inclusive in your journey is a Mandi treatment, this 17th century Javanese royal treatment will make you feel on top of the world! Mandi lulur is the luxurious pre-wedding ritual of Indonesian women. This treatment moisturizes and restores the natural PH balance of your skin. It begins with a traditional body massage, followed by a body scrub to exfoliate dead cells using a mixture of turmeric, sandalwood and rice powder. Then, yoghurt is applied to refresh and open the pores of your skin. The treatment ends with a fragrant blossom bath. Other treatments are available onsite, you may wish to view our spa menu.

After dinner, we will be taking you to Tirta Empul, Bali's most sacred spring pools for a purification ritual. This mystical place is visited by Balinese from all over the island, a local mangku (priest) will carry out the prayers. An exceptional way to begin the retreat.

Nusa Penida is a small island near Bali, which can be reached from Sanur by a 60 minute-boat ride. Leaving Ubud after breakfast we reach Penida by mid-morning, just in time for a snorkeling adventure followed by lunch on the beach. After lunch, a second snorkeling experience at a different place and we are back in Ubud by 18:00.
