Happy Journey in Bali

This is a six-day Yin and Yang yoga retreat, offering a very nice balance. Yin and Yang are present in everything, in all that surrounds us, all the way to smallest cell within. As most of us lead very Yang-oriented lives, adding some Yin into the daily practice and into the daily life will help to find some calmness, stillness and happiness.

Throughout this retreat, we will blend Yin and Yang to experience the benefits of both styles. Each day will be different, with its own theme. In the Yang phase, we will cultivate balance and strength through dynamic and active sequences whereas in the Yin sessions, we slow down for a quieter practice to work our joints and calm the nervous system. The yoga offered is accessible to all levels of practitioners.

Combining the daily yoga sessions with a myriad of activities, ceremonies and rituals, enjoying delicious healthy food and blissful spa treatments, this retreat will leave you feeling balanced, energised and, of course, happy!

ONEWORLD retreats at Kumara

Resort

The fourteen bedroom holistic retreat is located 1.5 km from the heart of Ubud in Bali. Bordered by a small creek to the west, the eco-friendly retreat is surrounded by jungle and rice fields. The retreat centre offers two swimming pools, dining room, spa and 125 square meter yoga studio open to nature.

Each room is air-conditioned, has its own terrace, mini-bar and bathroom. Comfortable yet unpretentious. For our guests' ultimate serenity, we welcome guests of a minimum age of 14 years.

Yoga Style

The yoga offered during this retreat by Marleen and Wayan is Yin and Yang, a mix of yoga styles - Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Yin. It is accessible to all levels.

Yin qualities are related with lunar energy and have a femine energy with a cooling effect. It is immobile, downward-oriented. The Yin parts of the body are the connective tissue, fascia, bones and joints. During the Yin sessions, we slow down for a quieter practice to work our joints and calm the nervous system. By holding poses for a longer period of time, mostly sitting or lying, we will release into each pose with mindful awareness of the sensations and thoughts that arise.

On the other hand, Yang qualities are associated with solar energy and have masculine energy with heating effect. Its is upward-oriented and mobile. In the body, Yang qualities are found in the muscles, blood and skin. During the Yang sessions, we will cultivate balance and strength through dynamic, active sequences (accessible for all levels). Working on a muscular level, we will focus on breathing and flowing from one pose to another.

Throughout this retreat, we will blend Yin and Yang together so you can learn to experience the benefits of both yoga styles. Every day, we will follow a different theme, such as preparing your physical body towards a peak pose, concentrating on a certain target zone, or focusing on a chakra or one of the five elements. Each day will be different.

Meals

All your meals are included and most are served at the resort.

Our chefs are experienced and eager to offer you the freshest, most tasteful and healthy meals. From our "table d'hôte" you may choose to eat vegetarian or non vegetarian meals. Just like at a friend's place, there are no menus, yet we make sure to know what you like and dislike!

Meals are served either in the jungle dining room or in the privacy of your own balcony table.

Today is a day for contemplation and to concentrate on your inner self. Silence helps one to reach a different level of consciousness and a better understanding of the self. The results are usually very enlightening and can be amazing.

Ayurvedic Chakra Dhara Massage – 2.5 hours
Ayurveda is believed to be the oldest healing therapy. It is a holistic science that is more than three thousand years old and focuses on health prevention, longevity and natural healing. An important part of the Ayurveda massage is called 'Chakra Dhara' which consists of dripping warm herbal oil on the chakras (key energy points) in order to balance the energy flow and purify the body, mind and spirit. The therapist skillfully treats your body with an array of repetitive and slow movements such as kneading, squeezing and rubbing, resulting in the elimination of toxins and other organ's impurities. The results are unbelievably good!
