Vivienne O’Brien
Vivienne did her teacher training in Melbourne and became a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher in 1998. In 2000 she opened the Luna Yoga Studio in Fairfield. Her aim as a teacher is to share her understanding of how yoga can transform us and our lives. She believes that a consistent and dedicated practice builds momentum that in turn allows us to develop our yoga skills. Together momentum and skill can carry us to great heights and lead to deep insight. She is passionate about sharing the experience that she has gained over 20 years of practicing and teaching Iyengar Yoga.

Q: What level of experiences required to join an Iyengar yoga class or to join your retreat?

A: To join the retreat you do not need to have any Iyengar Yoga experience as long as you are reasonably fit and healthy and come with an open mind. ONEWORLD retreats at Kumara

Resort

The fourteen bedroom holistic retreat is located 1.5 km from the heart of Ubud in Bali. Bordered to the west by a small creek, the eco-friendly retreat is surrounded by jungle and rice fields. The retreat center offers two swimming pools, dining room, spa and a 100 sq. meter yoga studio open to nature.

Each room is air-conditioned, has its own terrace, mini-bar and shower. Comfortable yet unpretentious. For our guests' ultimate serenity, everyone above the age of 14 is welcome at the retreat.

Yoga and Meditation

Iyengar Yoga
The yoga style taught in this retreat is Iyengar yoga which was developed by yoga master BKS Iyengar. The focus is on precision, alignment and safety in each pose to build strength, flexibility, stamina and balance.

Meals

All your meals are included and most are served at the resort.

Our chefs are experienced and eager to offer you the freshest, most tasteful and healthy meals. From our "table d'hôte" you may choose to eat vegetarian or non vegetarian meals. Just like at a friend's place, there are no menus, yet we make sure to know what you like and dislike!

Meals are served either in the jungle dining room or in the privacy of your own balcony table.

The Spa

Part of your journey is enjoying the luxury of our skilled therapist's massage treatments. You will enjoy a 110 min. Mandi Lulur – Floral Bath, a 17th century Javanese royal treatment. A traditional body massage followed by a body scrub with turmeric, sandal wood and rice powder, an exfoliation of yogurt to eliminate toxins, and a fragrant blossom bath. Other treatments are available onsite, you may wish to view our spa menu.

Purification Ceremony at Tirta Empul

Dinner

Visit to Tirta Empul
After dinner, we will be taking you to Tirta Empul, Bali's most sacred spring pools for a purification ritual. This mystical place is visited by Balinese from all over the island, a local mangku (priest) will carry out the prayers. An exceptional way to begin the retreat.
