This 6 day/5 night retreat brings together two of our islands most inspiring yoga teachers: Wayan, a local Balinese, and Janet, an expat from Canada who relocated here in 2010. Bringing together their shared knowledge, love and perspectives on yoga, meditation, mindful living and local culture, this retreat offers a perfect blend of Eastern and Western insights and practices.

Janet is originally from Canada and has practiced and studied a variety of yoga, meditation and pranayama for over 20 years. Blending her studies in Ashtanga, Iyengar, Anusara, and Restorative, she draws on these styles to offer students unique classes weaving together the best of each tradition.

James Wayan Partawan, Yoga, Meditation and Chanting Instructor
Wayan is a lover of yoga and of kirtan. Over the past couple of years, Wayan has been the assistant and student of many retreat leaders at Kumara. He doesn't miss an opportunity to go deeper in his practice. Wayan is a certified yoga teacher after completing the Yoga Arts teacher training in 2010.

ONEWORLD retreats at Kumara

THE PLACE

The fourteen bedroom Holistic retreat is located 1.5 km from the heart of Ubud in Bali. Bordered to the west by a small creek, the eco-friendly retreat is surrounded by jungle and rice fields. The retreat center offers 2 swimming pools, dining room, Spa and a 100 sq. meter yoga studio open to nature.

Each room is air-conditioned, has its own terrace, mini-bar and shower. Comfortable yet unpretentious. For our guests' ultimate serenity, everyone above the age of 14 is welcome at the retreat.

THE PRACTICE

Blending her studies in Ashtanga, Iyengar, Anusara, and Restorative, Janet draws on these styles to offer students unique classes weaving together the best of each tradition. Janet’s emphasis is to support each student in developing a safe yoga practice that is fine-tuned to their level. With this in mind, each student will receive hands-on adjustments, appropriate pose modifications and personalized suggestions of a practice they take away with them.

This retreat offers Vinyasa Yoga in the mornings and Restorative Yoga in the evening, and there is time to further your knowledge and experience with meditation and chanting during these sessions.

The retreat is open for all levels of experience, yet ideally you have already some experience in yoga.

THE MEALS

Healthy, organic meals are provided, which are prepared by our well trained chefs. All dietary requirements are catered for.

SPA

Part of your journey is enjoying the luxury of our skilled therapist’s treatments. Inclusive in this retreat package is a Herbal Massage or a facial and a famous Ayurvedic Chakra Dhara Massage. Other treatments are available onsite. You may wish to view our spa menu.

Day 1 - Sunday

Transfer to Kumara in Ubud, from the airport or anywhere in South Bali

Welcome drink and visit of the resort

Settle into your accommodation and relax by the pool.

Day 3 - Tuesday

Experiencing a Day in Silence

Today is a day for contemplation and to concentrate on your inner self. Silence helps one to reach a different level of consciousness and a better understanding of the self. The results are usually very enlightening and can be amazing.

Day 4 - Wednesday

06:00 Visit to Gunung Kawi temple

Meditation and breakfast at temple followed by hike in rice fields.

12:30 Lunch back at the resort

16:30-18:00 Afternoon yoga practice (2 hrs)

Evening is a free time to explore one of many restaurants in Ubud.
