General Information
The JOYFUL Yoga Retreat is all about exploring joy. The joy of yoga, the joy of moving freely, the joy of being alive. Daily yoga classes and Let Your Yoga Dance™ classes, 3 delicious meals per day, luxurious spa treatment and ample time for relaxation and contemplation. The traditional Balinese purification ceremony at the Tirta Empul temple, a sunrise yoga class on Batur Volcano and a bike ride through rural Bali will give you the opportunity to not only connect with yourself, but also with the spirit of the Island of Gods.

THE YOGA
This retreat offers a unique combination of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, Kripalu Yoga and Let Your Yoga Dance™. Everyone is invited to join. Open to all yoga levels.

Joanna
Kristin Skotnes Vikjord , teaches Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. Ashtanga Vinyasa is a dynamic, and flowing practice. The breath links the body with the deepest part of the mind – the soul – and the soul of the ashtanga practice is the breath. With the development of a long deep breath, the mind becomes calm and focused, and each movement flows gently and precisely from asana to asana through to the completion of the series. When breath and movement flow effortlessly in harmony, the practice of Ashtanga Yoga transcends consciousness and evolves into the lightness of a moving meditation.

marije
Marije E. Paternotte teaches Kripalu Yoga and Let Your Yoga Dance™. The word “Kripalu” means “compassion”. The focus of Kripalu Yoga is on developing non-judgmental awareness or so called witness consciousness. This is the ability to observe ourselves from a distance and witness what we are thinking, feeling or saying without judging it. Noticing what is happening but not labeling it as “good” or “bad”. Classes begin with meditation, warm-up movements and breath awareness to prepare you for yoga postures. The heart of each class is a sequence of postures that stretch, strenghten and balance your body. Each class ends with deep relaxation.

Let Your Yoga Dance™ is a fusion of chakra-yoga and joyful breath-based power movements; combining yoga and classic dance steps and rhythms with music from many cultures. It is a dance of the multi-dimensional self, bringing levity and healing to the seven energy centers (the chakras) and the body in its entirety. This inspirational dance of yoga is for everyone,  every body and for all ages.
