Various kinds of dance performances are held all around Ubud and its outskirts.
The Ubud Monkey Forest is a nature reserve and temple complex in Ubud, Bali. It houses approximately 340 Macaque monkeys. The forest contains at least 115 different species of trees and contains the Pura Dalem Agung Padangtegal temple as well as a “Holy Spring” bathing temple and another temple used for cremation ceremonies.
Gunung Kawi Temple
Gunung Kawi is an 11th century temple complex in Tampaksiring, north east of Ubud. It is located on the river Pakrisan. The complex comprises 10 rock-cut shrines carved into the cliff. They stand in seven meter high sheltered niches cut into the sheer cliff face. These monuments are thought to be dedicated to King Anak Wungsu of the Udayana dynasty and his favorite queens. A stone paved path leads down into the valley of the sacred river Pakerisan with stunning ricefield views on the way. You can bring your own sarong or borrow a sarong on top of the path down (free of charge or small donation). Beware, there are a lot of steps to go up and down!

Once the reservation is confirmed we send an information email to our guests. It is necessary to bring your own yoga clothing. There are clothes designed especially for yoga, stretchy top and pants. However, one can practice yoga without these. A T-shirt and pair of shorts are fine for yoga. If the retreat includes a blessing ceremony we suggest that you take along a white shirt with sleeves.
We have enough yoga mats at the resort, yet you may want to bring your own. We also have a gift shop selling an assortment of eco-friendly TPE mats and Natural Rubber mats at the Kumara gift shop, as well as yoga clothing and supplies to assist you in your yoga practice!
We recommend taking a pair of comfortable walking shoes or sandals with straps if your retreat includes a walk or bike ride and a hat.
Remember that Bali has a tropical climate; therefore, there is no need to bring much warm clothing, but perhaps one warm sweater for the morning to the volcano.
Do not forget your swimming suit, sunscreen, sunglasses and camera!
For our community…
If you have clothing, shoes, hats, or whatever you think could be useful for people that are not so fortunate, do not hesitate to take them a long as a donation for the village people. It is not necessary, yet it would certainly be appreciated.
