This retreat brings together two inspiring retreat leaders, international and Balinese yoga teacher, this retreat offers a chance of getting back the balance in your life.
Experience a unique combination of different insights and practices. Wayan will take you through a blend of Ashtanga, Hatha and Iyengar yoga that beautifully brings harmony throughout the day; Jacqueline will guide the Yin Yoga practice which will release your deeper levels and help bring balance to the mind and body.
Jacqueline Shaw has been practicing yoga since 1999. Having explored many different styles including ashtanga, iyengar, vinyasa flow as well as yin and experiencing the benefits from each of them, she decided to share her love for yoga and completed her initial teacher training with Byron Yoga centre in 2014.
After studying the deep connection between the mind and the energetic body it was a natural progression for Jacqueline to complete her Yin Yoga teacher training with Jo Phee (senior assistant to Paul Grilley) in 2015. She is constantly learning and adapting the practice and has attended workshops with Les Leventhal, Simon Borg-Olivier, Tiffany Cruickshank and Seane Corn.
For Jacqueline, yoga goes much deeper than the asana and her focus is on bringing all eight limbs into the practice. Encompassing these and working on a deep fascial level allows the safe release of past physical and emotional wounds.
Jacqueline is also an Emergency Nurse Practitioner and works in a busy metropolitan Emergency Department near Perth. She has an advanced knowledge of anatomy and pathophysiology and uses this to ensure that her students are safe and well supported in their practice.
Wayan is a lover of yoga, dance and Kirtan. He originally joined ONEWORLD Retreats as yoga teacher assistant but was soon given the opportunity to lead his own retreats. Wayan completed his yoga teacher training with Yoga Arts (a Yoga Alliance Accredited teacher training) in 2010 and is a certified yoga teacher.
Wayan has developed a very special style of teaching, based on Hatha flow that brings harmony, ease and balance to the mind and body. Originally a Balinese dancer, Wayan says that yoga is similar to dancing and it is with this background in dance that has helped him develop a most unique yoga practice. Wayan now leads the immensely popular retreat Immerse Yourself In Bali and co-leads a number of other retreats.
Born and raised within a community deeply rooted in Balinese culture, Wayan lives a rather busy traditional village life. When not guiding healthy souls on the mat, he is committed and involved in regular Hindu ceremonies and has three vibrant sons that keep him well-occupied!
